Very much a South East London staple is Good Food Stores. They have two shops now. One in Catford and the recently opened one in Sydenham selling a treasure trove of locally, where possible, sourced Pantry and store cupboard goods, fresh baked St. John's bread and sourdough loaves, viennoiserie, doughnuts, Borough 22 gluten free, vegan doughnuts, a small selection of meats and Vegan goodness and a large well rounded section of cheese from the likes of Neals Yard, Kappacasien etc. As well as a very good alcohol selection and at Sydenham a good selection of BYO refill stations for essentials including Pantry and cleaning products.
Really nice staff and good selection of food. They do good takeout coffee as well. It’s a charming little shop. Highly recommend!
A great selection of deli items, cereals, dried fruits, fresh breads, drinks (soft, wines, some spirits), fruit, vegetables, fine cheeses, other dairy items, some cokd meats, biscuits, cakes, crisps, frutus secos, jams, chutneys and more - all fitted into this narrow-fronted shop on Sydenham Road. About the largest space is given over to the coffee machine! A great embellishment to food shopping in the area!
Something good happened during the pandemic! A fantastic addition to Sydenham High Street, run by lovely people. Great for both everyday supplies, bread, cheese, veg and little luxuries, Tom's chocolate, St John's bread and donuts (available at the weekend), flowers outside. Be prepared to queue, but it's well worth it!
I have been shopping bits from Good Food for the last 3 years, first from the shop in Catford and now in Sydenham. Always a good vibe when coming and pleeeenty of delicious food items. I buy all my coffee from them as they have my absolute favourite coffee for my Italian espresso maker. I recently bought the Palace Culture vegan cheese from their shop in Sydenham. It was sooo delicious! I have a milk allergy and have been missing the fancier cheeses for ages. Definitely recommend! The Catford shop as step free access with a little ramp into the shop. I have forgot to take notice of the Sydenham shop, but I belive yo have a vage memory of it being step free accessible too. Both shops are small so if you have a large electrical wheel chair it might be tight, but staff are always helpful so I'm sure they would move what could be moved and assiste. The interior and decor of these shops are rustic, natural and homely. Pre-pandemic I used to love sitting in having a coffee and working on my computer at their Catford shop. They are very responsive on social media so if you have any questions it is worth dropping them a message or a call. This was how I got to know about the vegan cheeses. Highly recommend doing your veggie, coffee and general food shopping here!
Lovely addition to the high street in Sydenham. Good coffee and great St Johns doughnuts at the weekend.
Friendly staff and locally sourced goods - a lovely addition to the high street!
